POLL RESULTS

Ok, here are the results from this weeks Poll. It was 50/50 for Mom first learning her love of chocolate donuts (actually it was cupcakes) when she was in high school and when Darrell was young. Here is the answer. It is from one of the questions I asked and recorded when we were driving to Lake Powell last year.

Did you always walk to Olympus or did somebody drive?
Well, when I was a sophomore we walked but when I was a junior and senior I usually rode with my neighbor because he had a car. But sometimes when he wasn't there we walked. We would always stop on the way home at the drug store. They had a fountain and we'd stop there and get a frosted mug root beer. That's when I started liking chocolate cupcakes. They had them at the drugstore

I'm not old enough!!

As I sit here writing this I have tears in my eyes. Today I recieved a registration packet from the Jr. High! We are to fill it out, find a locker partner, and go to an orientation in two weeks. How can I possibly have a child old enough to be in Jr. High? Clay is not ready for that and neither am I. There are too many bullies in Jr High. How can I protect him? How can I keep up? There is 900 students at South Davis! Will he get lost in the shuffle? I think I better go take an extra Lexapro!

Hey Sandy, didn't you say you had created a Pine Needles blog? If you did, why is not listed in our favorites so we can view it as one of our favorites?

I cannot believe it either!!

I'm with you on this one Karie! I loved Alexandrea, her voice was very good. She was way better than most of the girls on Wednesday! Crazy. Maybe I should have voted for her. Maybe all she needed was just a couple more votes to stay on. They did say that Kady was in the bottom three so maybe my vote would have made her in the bottom two and it would have saved Alexandrea. Oh, and Karie, you can call the toll free line rather than text your vote.

YW Theme Pillow

OK Karie, I did finally finish a project, now I am just working on writing the instructions so I can get this in the store. Our YW did this as an activity. I taught the embroidery one month and then the next month I taught those that had finished it (OK so only 1 finished) how to sew the pillow.

Card Group Cuties

Good morning ladies! Look at this cute acetate basket we made last night. Cassidy used her Cricut to cut out the grass and flowers and we used the Xyron to stick them to the basket.


I never would have thought you could make a darling St Patricks card, but Marin proved me wrong. We used our scissors to mess up the edges and I added some ink for good measure.
The inside reads "For each petal on the shamrock this brings a wish your way - good health, good luck, and happiness for today and every day." So cute!










I am proud to say I made up this card all
on my own! I used paper from the baby stack I bought while you gals were here and it's perfect for Easter. The stamp was a buck at Michaels and I used colored pencils to fill it in.


This last card was also my creation. The spring paper came in a giant stack and I didn't think I'd ever use it, but I love how it looks against the blue. Next month we are making Mothers Day cards and I would love some inspiration. Is anyone else going to post their cute stuff?

Okay, here it goes. I hope I do this right. I think the Idols of the night were Brooke & Alexandrea - but I also really like Ramiele. The three of them seem so genuinely appreciative of the opportunity and the advice given. I really dislike Kady! What do you guys think?

Holy crap can that kid sing! He definitely had the best performance of the night. He's so cute and silly and humble - I just want to eat him up! I voted for him at least ten times and I hope you gals did too.

More projects

I can't believe AMM is closing! Jer says we are coming up in March for sure, so maybe I'll spend a little time there. These are the eggs I made using the flower punch technique. They look more like pinecones or snowballs than eggs, but oh well. I applied a layer of Mod Podge to them to help hold the flowers because the styrofoam is so hole-y. I cut out a grass backdrop for them and they look pretty cute on my shelf.

Of course I'm too cheap to buy that ribbon holder we saw at the scrapbook store, so this is my version. I used the packaging that Annie's shopping cart cover came in and just punched holes in it with a regular hole punch. It might look a little messy, but it works. Someday I'll go through and arrange the ribbons by color so they're easier to find. I think I have card group tomorrow so I'll let you know if we make anything fun.

Update on Calf

Sherie said I should let everyone know there is a new name for our calf. Kaylee has changed it from Alivia to Abbigale. I figure you will want your cards on the shower gifts to be correct. Randy is relaxing now that his little one is eating well and seems to be doing great. Keith has decided to worry now about someone seeing her in the pasture and taking her. Always something to worry about right.

FYI, I don't know if everyone got the news but All My Memories in Draper is closing their doors. Starting March 1st they are discounting everything 20% and then adding an additional 5% each week until they close the doors April 26th. I am SAD. That is where I go when I am blocked for ideas and need some inspiration.

Greetings from sunnier Las Vegas! I just returned from the St. George home show and I'd like to make about a thousand changes to my house, including these. I don't know if you can read the first one, but it's fun wallpaper from one of the laundry rooms. I'll send an e-mail of it so you can see it up close. The next is a cute idea for a coatrack - does anyone have room? How darling is this tiny toilet! You can't tell, but it was all of eighteen inches high if that. The last pic is a playroom complete with costume shop, bakery, postoffice, and fire station with pole! I told Steve Brooks if he was a good papa he'd make one for Savannah. He said if she was around more he'd do it. Who are the people that can afford these homes? They ranged in price from $400k to $7 million! The biggest house was 21,000 square feet and I would be happy to be a maid there. I'll try to get those pictures off Jer's phone so you can see them. Next year we should make a girls weekend of it.

I'm first

O.K. girls here we go - it is time to add to our sisters blog. If anyone has a better name to use I will do a search and see if it is available. I tried weRsisters first but it is already being used.
