Aren't we crafty

Wow, I guess we're all gearing up for the Christmas season. Thinking of your sisters gifts yet? If not, get on it because Christmas will be here in six weeks!

Today I'm sharing a card I made that was inspired by a fabric panel at the shop. I've made a bunch if anyone wants to get going on the Etsy thing.As usual, it's cuter in real life. You can't tell, but the pink snowflakes are sparkly.

I'm seeing lots of cute ideas being posted, but nothing you ladies have made yet. And where are the Halloween pictures???

Busy, busy, busy

Just thought I'd share some of this weeks creations. Sorry the lighting is so poor, but you get the idea.

First is the birthday banner I made using the paper Sandy sent me.

It's bright and cheery and I love how it turned out. I could fancy it up a bit more, but thought I'd stop with cute and simple.

Next is a tutu I made from a tutorial found on the blog Sandy linked to yesterday. It is so stinkin' cute in real life. I love the fabric flower!

Last is this shirt I appliqued for Savannah's birthday. It looks better in real life. I will take a picture of her wearing it and post that later. Savannah just saw this and said, "That's my cute shirt I'm going to wear for my birthday!"

New Hair Do

I told Karie I would post a picture of me with my new short hair. (OK, so I know you are all braver than I am but this is short for me).

It's too late to fix it, so keep your negative opinions to yourself! I haven't had hair this short since second grade and it's going to take some getting used to. I'll send a front shot when I get the styling down a little better and feel like smiling. Surprisingly, Jer is taking it very well.

Have you looked at NieNie's blog? She went to Pine Needles to get fabric! I hope the ladies there treated her very well.

"She'a a Princess"

While I was getting Hattie ready, Luke came in the room and saw her in her dress and said, "Mom, she's a Princess. Can she fly?" How cute is that?

I must say, she did look darling in her dress. Dad gave her a WONDERFUL blessing. I feel so lucky to have him as my dad. Thank you, to everyone, for taking part it our special day. I love you all!!

We are So lucky that Mckenzie took this picture of the sisters because if we had let Steve Fogarty Foto take it we would all look like we walked out of a radiation chamber! So glad we were taught better ethics than him. Thanks Kenzie, your pictures are great!

"Bewitching" cards

Here are two cards options I've made for witching season at the village. Sorry the photo quality isn't the greatest. If you have suggestions on how to get better lighting without a tent, let me know.

Those are glitter polka-dots around the words. I'm happy with how this one turned out. I think the stockings are adorable!

The corner flourish on this one was done with black embossing powder. I'm hoping more ladies like Sherie will know where the saying comes from. It reads "I'll show you what shoes to wear, how to fix your hair, everything that really counts." It's from the "Wicked" soundtrack in case you don't have it memorized.

Fun and Cute Skirt

I love sewing! Especially when it turns out so well! I had fun making this skirt for Camry to give to Jenna at her birthday party tonight, my crazy friend Jen's daughter. And best of all, the fabric came from my stash!! Wahoo! See I do use the fabric that I hoard :)

Sherie, the flowers were super easy. Layer 3 flowers together and cut out a small circle in the center. Running stitch around the hole and pull tight. Fasten with a safetypin. That easy :)

My gift for Ellie

I wanted to share with you the box that I made for Holly and Tyler to bury Ellie with Grandma Draney. I had originally purchased the box for a cross-stitch design but never used it. The inside contained a section for jewelry and a music box. Tyler helped me remove the insides so the area would be one open space. When Holly and I we were at Quilt market several years ago I purchased a vintage embroidered table scarf and I used parts of that to cover the inside of the box. I also used a small corner of it to embroider Ellie's initials. The sweet foot prints given to us by the nursing staff finally have a more treasured placement than the sheet protector in my day planner. I used trims from a quilt I am making and buttons from my stash. I really hope that Holly and Tyler like it.

Eating crow

I thought I'd share these pics in case you were looking for another reason to make fun of me. This is the collection we've started behind the back garage. And yes, the green beast has been laid to rest for now. It needs a new tranny and it's going to be a while before that happens.
By the way, I've been in this house for four months now and only Mom and Kathy have come to visit. What's up???

Welcome to the Big B Ranch!

Thought you might like to see the gate/fence we had installed. It's pretty plain, but I like how the "B" looks. Hopefully the HOA won't get mad seems how we didn't get their permission first. Oh well, we're Brooks's - we live on the edge!!

We finally finished doing everything in Luke's room. I think it turned out pretty cute. Hattie's room is painted, now it's time to work on the bedding and window treatment! Mom...here I come! :)

remembering...

We went down to visit Leo last night. I love the cemetary on Memorial Day. There really is a different feeling there. The flowers were beautiful. The kids made a game of how many flower pots they could stand back up. We all enjoyed the time spent remembering those that have gone before.

Gift card holder

Here is a little gift card holder I made for Heidi T. It is really cute in real life. Those are tiny crystals under the word "enjoy" as well as one in the middle of the flower. Sorry I didn't crop these photos. I lost my good editing software when our computer crashed.
