After 30 years.....

...Dad is finally laying them to rest! Can you believe it!! While we were finishing up tonight, Dad asked the boys to help him load them onto the trailer. I feel like we should be listening to "taps" right now.

The next American IDol is....

I am in a state of shock still. I thought DA had it for sure! Don't get me wrong DC is absolutely amazing and I really am fine with him winning, but I thought it was going to be DA for sure. I am appalled at some people out there in the blog world. I had to post a comment today to tell people that there is NO reason to be negative towards DA or DC. They are both awesome and to take a lesson from them and be respectful of the other. Too bad no one really listens to me :)

David vs David: Battle of the Idols

Wow! What a show! I assume none of you have posted because you were at a thrilling jewelry party, so I will lead as usual. I agree with Simon that DA had the TKO. I still really like DC and will definitely buy his album, but DA is the clear winner. His performances tonight were his best of the season and I can't say the same for DC. Jeremy thinks Archie is more "Idol" material and Cook is a little too cool for the competition. Whatever happens, they both have a bright future ahead, but I am casting my vote for David Archuleta!

Peek-a-boo

Hello ladies! Just thought I'd share a card I made today for an SCS challenge. I haven't shown you anything lately, but I have been busy creating. You'll see what I've been up to when I get home in a few weeks.

For this card I used my Cuttlebug to cut out the squares and a needle to pierce the holes. (I had to use my pretty pen from Sherie to hold the card closed.) The cupcake on the inside pops up through the hole in the front. It's a very simple look, but you know it took me forever to make it. I am creatively challenged and my baby girl doesn't really help.



Are you all stoked for the AI finale? I have put a lot of thought into it and I think DC should win. He already has the look and the attitude. If DA wins, Hollywood will strip him of his charming innocence. Let him stay sweet for a while longer and cast your votes for DC.

I have to go finish watching The Office finale now. If you don't watch it, you are missing out. The show is hilarious! But don't worry, I have it on DVR and I'll make you watch it next time you're here;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!

I think we should start counting down rather than up on Mom's birthday from now on. So today she is not 68 she is 66 - this way she will be with us forever!!! I love you mom! You are a wonderful support to all of your six daughters! We couldn't make it without you! So let the countdown begin!

How lucky are we to have the best Mom in the world, not to mention she's a little bit Goofy and a lot of fun!!! The only problem is, how can we measure up to her great example!


Thank you to all my sisters (and mom) for your help with yesterdays dinner! Salads were fab and hello, I could eat Sheries strawberry pies forever!!! Oh, and lets not froget, noone picks out chips quite like Kathy! I hope that you all were able to enjoy mothers day.

Meet Arthur & Dudley

Tyler and Steve surprised Holly & Me with new puppies for Mother's Day! Are they stinkin' cute or what!?! We have only had them one night, but so far so good. I'm not sure I'm ready for the whole puppy training, but I'll do my best. I feel sad because Art whines a lot and I just hope he is not crying because he wants his brother. They will be reunited at Sunday dinner! :) Now on to....IDOL. The person who should have left weeks ago is finally gone! I know everyone doesn't agree with my opinion, but Jason needed to be gone awhile ago. I am thrilled with the top three. Is anyone going to the David Archuleta fan fest? I can't imagine how crazy it will be, can you?!? TTFN

NEW DESIGNS

Sherie is right - it would seem that we have no life post Disneyland. I guess it is like the Christmas let down.

This is a picture of the three new kits being released today. It would seem I am in the mood for summer! Unfortunately it seems like it is sneaking up on me. My main sewer, Laurie, is going to be gone almost the complete month of June and so I am in a panic trying to get my July designs designed, fabrics picked and to her this week.

Karie - last night we had the funnest YW activity. We had a mother/daughter spa night. We decorated the RS room, had soft music playing, soft lighting and set up stations for pedicures, manicures, facials, a bath-salt making table for the girls to make for their moms, and a delicious refreshment table. I put bowls of nuts and mints at each of the stations for snacking and it was a huge success. The girls treated their moms by doing their mani's and pedi's. The girls and the mothers loved it. It felt good to have an activity come off better than we planned.

OH the Pressure...

We've gone international!! I don't know if any of you have noticed, but Holly got a comment from a lovely lady in Serbia!! Is anyone else feeling the pressure to keep this blog totally hip? Ignorance Is Not Bliss

Okay, so I thought if I just ignored or pretended there wasn't a blog out there in the virtual world about my arch enemy, that maybe it wouldn't be true or that I didn't care. Well, not the case. Finally, it got the best of me and I checked it out. Glad to say, that both the blog and the website our POORLY done - so I feel a little better. But oh I need to get back to sewing up a storm when I feel blindsided or ousted from the #1 spot, instead of drinking a chocolate shake from Cold Stone or making cookie dough to eat. Like I told Natalie tonight, when it comes to the store it takes 20 positive comments to erase one negative comment out of my mind. So a little help, please?!?
