Our little Zachary popped the question last night! Alex, being the smart girl she is, said YES! We had decorated a spot in the trees up at the cabin for a romantic dinner for two. I must say it was perfect! I couldn't stop taking pictures, dreaming that this was my day and praying that my girls get something this fun. Congratulations Zach and Alex. We love you.

Just Finished

Okay, now I have something to show. A birthday present for Emma Searle (my crazy friend Jen's daughter). I think it turned out 'supercute!'

Oh and Sherie, pucker up your lips to make them full and fishlike, and then say 'supercute' - that is the face :) It was a lady on What Not to Wear and she would forget to make the face sometimes, but always made sure to have the face 'on' when saying 'supercute,' which was way too often!

Treasure Hunting

Just thought I'd share a few things I have acquired lately.This basket and a box of spools came from a lady in my ward. She is moving and doesn't have space for all she has collected over the years. I got several larger spools as well. I just put some fabric around them to add some color.

Can you see the cute pincushion Holly made me when she was here? It is so bright and cheery!

And I picked up this set of four tins at DI for 50 cents! Don't know what I'll do with them, but MishMash collects them so they must be in fashion.

These cute jars came from the same lady. Eventually I will put stuff in them, but for now they sit empty.

I know you ladies have some cute stuff you could show off. Let's see it!

Our latest project...

On Saturday, Steve and I worked in the yard from 9 to 5 completing our latest project...new flower beds and a fire pit. We were hoping to have everything complete by Saturday, but with all of the rain we had last week, we are not quite there. All we need is the gravel to go around the pit and the fire pit itself. I am not looking forward to unloading the gravel wheelbarrow by wheelbarrow, but I'm excited to see the final result. Anyone up for roasting marshmallows??

DI Deals

Here's what I found at the DI today.

They never have any good frames, so I was very happy to find these at $3 each. And of course some more value books for $1 each. Still no candlesticks.

My Idol Take

So even though I posted earlier tonight, I still want to give my two cents on Idol. It was a really good night! I normally DO NOT like Scotty, but I liked him being different tonight. My faves are still Casey, Paul and James. James' performance was super sensitive. I guess my vote is Haley needs to go!

This Weeks Basket

Okay, so this week in my basket I received 2 pineapples, 6 bananas, 2 squash, 1 zucchini, 2# red grapes, 3 green peppers, 3 pears, 4 apples, baby carrots, 1 tomato, and one container of blueberries. Yummy!!! Hattie is loving that I have fruit for her to snack on. Happy eating for me :)

Who Needs a Garden :)

I am officially a member of my neighborhood Produce Co-op (the same thing as Bountiful Baskets) and this is what came in my basket this week. 1 bunch of Spinach, Celery, Strawberries, 4 Pears, 5 Gala Aples, 5 Oranges, 2 Yellow Squash, Asparagus, Pineapple, 3 Bananas, Mushrooms and Green Grapes. All of this for only $16.50! It comes every other week to my neighbors house and I just pick it up after work! How convenient!! I am loving it so far and it is making me feed my kids, as well as myself, some healthier snacks!! I can also buy bread (Granny Delight) from the co-op too. It is $1.40 a loaf. They also offer pies for $2.75 and Dunford Donuts for $.60 each. Holly and Sandy...you guys should start this in your neighborhood!!! On a complete side note....Luke showed me the "bird" tonight and said, "Mom, this is the peace sign." WHAT?!?

American Idol

I know you have been waiting for my two cents, so here you go. I love Casey Abrams! He is crazy, cooky and a hoot! I also love Paul McDonald. He dances exactly like Elaine Beniz! And Scotty has grown on me. He looks like Howdy Doody, but makes facial expressions exactly like George W Bush! The rest of the pack I can live without. How about you?

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Mine has strawberries, corn and tomatoes all in pretty rows! I am so excited to see how my garden does. I am hoping at least one of each plant survives and produces something edible! I'll keep you posted.

• Continued sewing together rows on new quilt
• Felt like I was going to explode from eating so much at lunch so I did 20 minute pilates workout, Randy caught me and said how long have you been working out?  My Answer: 5 minutes. It was my first workout.
• My daily appointment with Randy and Judge Judy
• Abandoned dinner plans, still too full from lunch and made Kaylee packaged Fettucini
• Back to working on Quilt

Calling All Cruisers

I know that you must have taken better pictures than I did of the cruise. How many pictures of us eating dinner do we need?  Anyway, I would love it if anyone who took pictures on the cruise would email them to me, or put them on a disc.

If we weren't missing two of our best, this would have been PERFECT!

Be My Valentine

Just thought I'd post a few things I've done for Valentine's Day.

I made the tissue rosettes out of streamers and hot glued them to "ball pit" balls. I bought the candlesticks at DI and have since painted them black. I used the small cupcake wrappers to make the garland. It would take forever to make one like the blog I saw. I will stick with the shorter version.

And here are some "pencil" treats for Annie's preschool friends. I made the small ones using Twix and a Hershey kiss. The big one uses Rolo's which is what the blog I saw them on used. Of course, I am too cheap to buy each kid a full size Rolo or Mentos. Not sure why I didn't think of using Lifesavers, but by the time Renae suggested it, I already had everything on hand. Oh well!

Works in Progress

OK, so I have been spending A LOT of time in my sewing room this week.

I designed a new quilt.....Love Line.   The quilt is being quilted today by Chelsea and I CANNOT WAIT to see how it turns out.  Here is a bit of the quilt......

and here is the small project that I am including with the quilt kit.

Something a little more do-able for most....

I have also been working endlessly on Winterfest sewing.  Please, someone remind me why I do this.
