Magnificent Monogram!

I think this card turned out nicely for my first time using the Just Rite Monogram Stamper. I can't wait 'til I get the small letters in the mail. You can do super cute stuff with them! Oh, and if you didn't know, those are Sherie's initials. The rest of you can make your own when I get there.

SAD GUY

OK, so if it wasn't so sad it would be funny. Randy has had the worst couple of weeks. The pain is terrible and he is rationing his pain meds to get through until the surgery. He has been telling me for a while that he wants to have his jaw wired shut so he will quit chewing on his tongue and today he resorted to rigging up his own contraption since that is not an option.

Okay, so I take it you've all forgotten how to type?? Guess I'll post another card just so I have something new to look at. This was my creation for card group this month. The picture doesn't do it justice - the colors are fab! And I even heat embossed the cupcake - too cute! I ordered some Nestabilities so I'll bring my Cuttlebug to the reunion and we'll play! I expect at least two of you to post something this week!!!

Yummy Chip Dip

So I'm not very good at photographing food, but I am good at eating it and I eat a lot of this. I got the recipe from Sue who calls it "cowboy caviar". It is super easy and really yummy.

2 cans black beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup frozen sweet corn
4 green onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
chopped tomato to taste
chopped avocado to taste
chopped cilantro to taste
Kraft zesty italian dressing (I used house italian today)
jalapeno (optional)


Combine all ingredients and serve with tortilla chips. (It only takes a little dressing - you don't want it swimming in it.) I halved the recipe for the bowl seen here and will snack on it for a day or two. Savannah and I love it and even Jeremy eats it! Give it a try and let me know what you think.

AIDA

Steve and I saw this movie last night for our anniversary! Oh my gosh...I liked it better than the musical. It is a must for a girls night out! LOVED IT!!!!! Did I say that I liked it??

Cherry Pie Pin Cushion

I know it has been a long time since I have posted but I feel like I never finish anything. I have a lot of projects I am working on but nothing was finished until now.

I just finished the project , Cherry Pie Pin Cushion, that I designed to teach at Village Dry Goods in Brigham City in August and this was a lot of fun. The cake stand is actually a 6" glass plate topped with a glass candle stick, glued and it makes the cutest cup-cake size cake stand. Holly and I saw one at Quilt market in Portland, told Maryann about it and she made one for each of us. Now I need to start searching DI and discount stores for more to provide them for my class. So, if you're out and about and find any - snag them for me. I also have plans to do more, pumpkin pie for autumn, Christmas pie.....who knows what else.

Lost in translation...

Well I finally got my birthday present in the mail and I am in WAY over my head! I ordered a new Nikon D40 camara and I cannot even understand the owners manuel. There are so many words and terms that I don't know what they mean. Hopefully I can get the jist of it before to long and dazzle you all with my amazing photos. Nat and I have signed up to take a photography workshop from our favorite blogger. I might be beyond any help but I am going to try.

No Dice!!

So I guess it's a no...for now. After my ultrasound and blood test, the doctor suggested that I stop now and try again in a month or so. So I just figured things out, and I am out about $2700. I will get $400 back from the U if I go through it again. I think that is what I understood. So, needless to say, I'm a tad discouraged. At first I was pretty down thinking that I didn't know why it would work so well last time and not this time around, but after I started thinking about it and talking to the doctor, we were just lucky that everything worked last time because I was borderline on numbers and follicles. So I guess I should just be glad that things worked the way they did with Luke. How lucky am I to have such a cute and HEALTHY little guy.

I was crying to mom today and then stopped because I got thinking that there are so many things that could be worse. The more blogs I read, the more I realize I have things pretty darn good. I'm so lucky to have the chance to be a mom, have the husband I do, be healthy, have a family I LOVE, and sister's who are not only sisters, but my best friends as well. ( My only friends at that!:) )

I Concur

I, too, can not believe that we went that long without blogging! I've checked everyday to see if my sisters have posted their latest make, but have been disappointed. :(

I know I have no room to talk, so I'll just post an update.

I had my ultrasound today to check how many follicles I have and the doctor was a little disappointed at where my follicles are at this point in the cycle. He increased my meds for the next two days and then I have another ultrasound on Wednesday. If you have 3 or less follicles, they cancel the cycle. If you have more than six, things proceed as usual. Between those two numbers, he said, we have to have a long conversation. He didn't want to prematurely cancel things today, but if my lil follicles don't blossom in the next couple of days, we'll cancel the cycle and start again next month, I'm assuming. I'm a little bummed that things are not going as smooth as it seemed last time, but I would much rather cancel the cycle now and lose $2,000. As apposed to going through with things and only have a couple of eggs, that possibly aren't good, and losing all $10,000.

Last time I had 11 follicles, only 6 of which had eggs, which only 4 were good...then only 2 ended up being good. So....I guess we'll see what happens on Wednesday. Keep your fingers and legs crossed for me! ;) Love you all!!

Anyone, anyone.....

Am I the only person who works around here??? I look forward to checking our blog, but it's not much fun when I'm the only one posting! Oh well, I'm not going to stop adding stuff because I'm having fun.

Here are some "pillow treats" I made for girls camp. A pack of Trident gum fits perfectly inside. I put a little saying on the gum that relates to the literature theme this year. They are pretty cute in real life. Jer thought it was a waste of time because the girls will most likely just throw them in the trash. Oh well, isn't it more about impressing the leaders anyway!?!

While I was working on these, we watched "The Bucket List". If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. It was rather funny and just a little sad at the end.
